Chimney Relining 

The one and only way to cure all your chimney related  smoke problems. Lining will require maintenance or readjustment when your original flues have cracked due to a fire. You will know this because the connected wall may be turning a shade of black due to soot seeping through it. The most common sign of early damage to your chimney is sand falling into your open fire or stove when the fire is lit and hot. Upon seeing this, you should set about repairing the chimney as soon as possible due to the fact soot is very hard to get rid of once it has penetrated the surrounding walls.

Sometimes people don't even notice these issues with their chimney but they may get a strange smell upstairs in the guest bedroom, in the hotpress, or in any other room in the house. This is soot leaking inside the chimney and releasing toxic gases into the room and this should be rectified immediately. If you smell this and /or see soot do not light your fire.
